Lily’s Story

homeaid-orange-county

Forced to leave her home after losing all of her family support, Lily was pregnant and began experiencing homeless with her boyfriend. They had to resort to living in their car and to make matters worse it was the summertime so it was incredibly hot. After four long, scary months, Lily and her boyfriend were referred to HomeAid’s nonprofit service provider, FAM. Upon entering the HomeAid-built shelter operated by FAM, they met with a case manager who helped them create a plan.

Lily and her boyfriend were immediately connected to the FAM pantry. They were matched with a Rapid Re-Housing Program and successfully found an apartment. The family was able to rest easy about the arrival of their baby girl because of the diapers and wipes provided to them through the FAM pantry by HomeAid’s Diaper Drive.

“They didn’t have to worry about diapers for their baby because such an expensive need was filled.”
